Summer: Sing it Will Smith

I have enjoyed my first two real days of summer. Haven't done much really, but I rather like it like that. I've cleaned a bit, worked out a bit, got rid of old school work a bit. A bit.

Something notable HAS happened though: today I was scarred for life by the meat factory that is 24 Hour Fitness.

Let me tell you about my first experience:
There was an online offer where I traded all sorts of personal information for a free seven day trial at a gym close to my house. Today I made good with my coupon and dragged my butt down to the place, slightly more optimistic and looking forward to a good workout than you might expect. When I arrived, I first checked in a front desk manned by a very young and bored looking man, who ushered me to another very young lady named Stephanie. Whilst Stephanie was entering in my information into a computer (information the already had, mind you... that's how I got the trial in the first place), I had time to glance into the area where people actually worked out. IT WAS HORRIFYING.

There were like 203840912840983259823438 people sweating and snorting and attempting to discreetly compare themselves to those around them.

What freaked me out was that the whole institution reminded me vaguely of cows being prepared for slaughter. More on this later when I have had a chance to really ruminate on it. Or "marinate," as my sister would say. I'm struggling with putting my thoughts into words.
