Quite often, I make plans to do/finish something, and then lose interest. Then, I allow myself to get distracted and not be productive. For instance, right now I could be actually working on my homework, but instead I'm ranting about how I don't do my homework. Yay me!
Last night a girlfriend slept over, but being the grandma that I am, I fell asleep when she went to the bathroom around 12:30. Whoops. But in the morning, we made lovely pancakes with fruit and listened to Jack Johnson whilst dancing in the kitchen.

Breaking Bread with my Ancestors
Made Irish soda bread with my Bubbie today to prepare for her favorite holiday: St. Patrick's day. It was fun cooking and visiting, but as we could only cook four loaves at a time, it was pretty slow going.
Garden update: I have no room in the yard to plant lol. Nor proper sun. So my fantasies of beets and melons as far as the eye can see are nothing but. Sad day. If however I inspired you to grow your own garden this summer, I found an awesome site with all heirloom seeds and directions when to plant. Check it out and grow your own veggies and share the produce with me lol. >>Heirloomseeds.com

Garden Fantasies
I think I'm going to try to mount an effort to plant a vegetable garden this spring. My desired produce: melons, beets, and carrots. Pickled beets are my favorite salad topping and carrots are so good when they are homegrown! Sweet, vibrantly colored, and crunchy, they put supermarket carrots to shame. Melons are one of my favorite fruits, especially watermelon. The crisp flesh is so yummy when refrigerated. Tomatoes would be yummy too, and if I indeed plant some tomato seeds, then I definitely want to plant some basil with it. Talking about food has made me hungryyyy I'm starting to drool.
Uh-oh
I swatted at a spider on the wall... I think I got it, but I can't find the body. Unconfirmed kills make me nervous.

not Youtube
To start off, I just want to say that I love Youtube. It rocks because the site creates a place the users can go and make their own by uploading their own videos, commenting on on others' videos, and customizing their profiles. User-generated content is what the internet is all about.
That being say, I want to give a great big boo to the fact that almost out of the top 15 videos of all time, 10 of those are music videos posted by users like "universalrecordgroup." Youtube should be a place where people around the world can post their dumb videos of babies biting fingers, pandas sneezing, and super fast rubik's cube solves, not a home for music videos posted by conglomerates. I mean really, should Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" be the number one video?

First (and most likely last) post
So here is the typical and awkward "Woo this is my first blog post" post.
My name is Caryn.
I am a student and barista in the Silicon Valley.
That is all.
