Adventure!

Just a quick post letting you guys know that today I started the CG Method, which is supposed to make curly hair awesome by eliminating silicone and sulfate hair products (google for more detail, for I am too lazy to explain it all here).

My hair dried pretty frizzy as it would have normally because I shampooed pretty thoroughly in attempt to wash out any silicones that might have lingered yet. The poor cheap conditioner I rubbed through my hair wasn't up to the task of repairing the damage I had done lol.

I also realized that I forgot to take a "before" picture to compare my "after" hair to. Aww, dang. Well I guess I have 500 facebook pictures that will work lol.

I'll post more in a bit after a week (or five really if my prior history is any indicator of my posting habits).

Leg warmers!

OH MY GOODNESS. I can't believe that I am actually posting pictures of my leg warmers... I was really going to laze out of it, but a friend of mine really wanted to see them, so here you go!

For the record, they are incredibly warm and cozy and I love wearing them around campus with my moccasins on cold days. I haven't tried it yet, but I am also thinking that they would be awesome with rain boots. Around the house, I'll layer them over some yoga pants for extra warmth if I'm feeling a bit chilly.

A bit about the fit:
When not stretched out,
the warmers extend over my knee. You can see in the picture that I used a stirrup design, but you can easily scrunch up the heel and not wear them over the foot if you so choose. The ribbing on the top cuff and foot is both 1x1. If I decide to make another pair, I think that I'll make the next ones 3 to 5 inches shorter to make them more feasible to wear with rain boots. Right now, the scrunching action might be a little too bulky for that.

Long Time No See

Just a quick update.. Finished my leg warmers! They are wonderful and super warm :] I would like to make another pair, but we'll see...

School started up and I spent so much money on textbooks that my wallet cried -- either that or I discovered a new phenomenon in which vinyl produces liquid. Literally all but a few dollars of ALL the money I had saved up since last fall (AKA the last time I bought textbooks) was spent.
Sad day? Definitely.
